MARK FITZGERALD

PRESIDENT & OWNER

Mark grew up in a contractor family outside of Annapolis, Maryland, so he was raised around the construction business. After graduating from the University of Maryland, he started his career in 1996 with Ryan Homes as a Superintendent, where his professionalism and capabilities were quickly recognized, advancing him into a Costing Manager role and later Production Manager and then General Manager. With that well-rounded construction background, Mark joined a Delaware coastal builder in late 2007 to be Vice President. During his tenure there, he expanded the company from building 40 units a year to over 300 units a year over a period of seven years. After his tenure there, Mark started Canalfront Builders so that he could focus on working directly with the customer to realize their vision. His mission is to design homes that have their roots in architectural traditions and that epitomize the coastal Delaware lifestyle. He believes that every home should express the personality of the owner while integrating Canalfront Builders' deep knowledge of energy efficiency and innovation. He also served as the Sussex County Vice President on the Executive Board of the Home Builder’s Association of Delaware for three years.

Mark loves spending time with his two children being active at the beach or riding bikes on the trails around Lewes. He is an avid music fan who frequently travels to catch his favorite acts.

MYRON EDWARDS

VICE PRESIDENT & LEAD DESIGNER

Myron started as the owner of a general contracting business in Wilmington, Delaware in 1982. During the thirteen years he owned that business, he built over 71 single-family homes in Newark, Delaware and managed the construction of 140 townhomes in Pike Creek Valley, Delaware along with a variety of high-end renovations and additions.

After moving to West Virginia, Myron gained valuable construction experience in the commercial construction industry building everything from a Cancer Treatment Center in Fairlee, West Virginia to renovating a Polo Ralph Lauren premier store in the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In addition, he worked on surgery centers, office buildings, and retail renovations from Oklahoma City to Dallas and everywhere in between. Commercial experience gave Myron an appreciation of the importance of proper control systems, large scale project management, and the importance of complete and thorough design documents.

In 2001, he moved back to Delaware and became Vice President with a custom home builder in the Delaware resort area. But Myron's passion for architecture and design along with his overall building experience eventually led him to focus full-time on designing custom homes so that he can help clients as they pursue their dream of building. When working with a client, he focuses on sound design principles, responsible costing, and his thorough understanding of the building process to advance a trusting relationship with the client as a successful project. He joined Canalfront Builders in March of 2017 to bring his design talents to our projects. He loves collaborating with our clients to help them realize their unique vision for their home.

Myron loves country music, hunting, fishing, and eating all he catches.

ANN WARREN

PROJECT MANAGER

As Project Manager, Ann works closely with clients in refining and documenting their vision for their project, and then supporting the entire building process as that vision becomes reality.

She grew up all over the country, but moved to Delaware in 2002 to be on the Eastern Shore, where her mother’s family lived. When Ann moved to Southern Delaware, her passion for rehabbing her own homes convinced her to break out of the high-tech rut and pursue a career in construction. After spending years at IBM, George Washington University and other companies where she had project management experience, she became a Project Manager with a number of custom home building companies before joining Canalfront Builders in January of 2018.

She particularly enjoys helping customers navigate the slippery slope between what they want and what they can afford, guiding them to choices that are sound design decisions.

Ann enjoys touring architectural landmarks, going to movies, yoga, hiking, biking, boating, reading, and animals of all kinds. She is on the Board of her HOA and has been renovating her house for the last four years.

MIKE KRIM

SUPERINTENDENT

Mike is a Delaware native, hailing from Wilmington, and a proud graduate of Delcastle Technical High School where he received his carpentry certification.

With that invaluable training in hand, he set to work for a custom builder in Hockessin and later went to work as a commercial carpenter. His growing experience and natural leadership ability allowed him to transition into Project Management, spending several years working on health care facilities on such projects as; new catheterization labs, operating rooms, CT and CAT-Scan labs, and a total renovation of the sterile processing department that had to remain operational during construction. He also worked on renovations of telecommunications facilities, including architectural and mechanical upgrades. He later followed that company downstate, making the transition to custom home building. He later moved to a production builder where he stayed for four years building 30 homes a year.

He joined Canalfront in 2018 because he enjoys the challenges presented by custom building. He gets a charge out of problem solving and being able to use his carpentry background to provide our clients with a well-crafted custom home that is the realization of their expectations.

In his spare time, he loves being at the beach with his wife and teen-aged sons, doing anything from surf-fishing to paddle boarding.
